About the Institute
The Institute of Chemical Engineering, Polish Academy of Sciences is a research institution with a long-standing tradition. It was established in 1958 on the initiative of Professor Tadeusz Hobler, one of the founders of Polish process engineering. The Institute conducts advanced research and development on a wide range of issues related to chemical reactor engineering, biotechnology, nanomaterials and microreactor technologies as well as modern gas and liquid separation processes.
The research agenda pursued at the Institute is firmly aligned with addressing critical challenges in clean energy production and environmental protection. The Institute undertakes research projects funded by national and international funding bodies, including the National Science Centre, the National Centre for Research and Development, and the European Commission. It is an active member of international research consortia and scientific collaboration networks. The Institute’s research activities lead to publications in high-impact, peer-reviewed scientific journals and to the generation of patentable inventions.
The Institute’s staff consists of highly committed researchers who engage in interdisciplinary collaboration and are dedicated to the practical implementation of research outcomes. Environmental protection technologies developed by the Institute’s researchers have been recognized with numerous awards at national and international invention and innovation fairs.
