Abstract: In this research, tire rubber and its pyrolysis products, disposable packaging materials, and technical carbon black samples were analyzed for their 14C isotope content and bio-based carbon using the liquid scintillation counting (LSC) technique. Pyrolytic oil and recovered carbon black showed higher ¹⁴C concentrations with greater truck tire input, while passenger car rubber contained more ¹⁴C than truck rubber. All packaging samples exceeded 100 pMC, confirming modern biomass origin, with wooden cutlery showing especially high values. In contrast, technical carbon black contained <1 pMC, indicating fossil-based production with little or no renewable input.
