Abstract: The studies of Cu catalyst usage in a hydrogen production in the methanol decomposition process were performed. CuZnZr-based catalysts with Ga, Cr and Ce additives and CuZnAl-based ones promoted by Zr were investigated. The highest hydrogen yield was achieved with CuZnAl-Zr catalysts and CuZnZr-Ga ones. It was established that the catalyst produced by hydrotalcite method showed the best activity.
